Womens Game

2025-2026

Powered by the StFX Alumni Association, the largest women's charity hockey game at any university in Canada returned to the StFX campus. But the night carried a meaning that went beyond the ice.

Before the opening faceoff, the P4P community came together to honour one of StFX's most beloved figures: Father Stanley MacDonald. A true Xaverian in every sense, Father Stan embodied the spirit of community, service, and purpose that Pucks for Purpose was built on. In his memory, the game's fundraising trophy was officially renamed the Father Stan Memorial Cup, a tribute that ensures his legacy will live on in every future chapter of this organization.

This groundbreaking event brought together students, faculty, alumni, and community members for a night that celebrated women's hockey, school spirit, and the people who shape what StFX truly means. Year 2 marked a defining moment for the organization, as the P4P community raised an incredible $200,000, pushing our cumulative total to $385,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society and motionball for Special Olympics Canada.

With the Business and Arts & Science faculties squaring off in a heated rematch, the game delivered from start to finish. Lead changes, big goals, and highlight-reel plays made for an incredible night of hockey, and in what many called an underdog performance, the Business team edged out ArtSci to claim victory and hoist the Father Stan Memorial Cup.

While Business claimed the win on the ice, the true victory was the unity, remembrance, and impact shared by everyone who came together to be part of this historic moment in Canadian women's hockey.
